Scholarship Policy and Application Process
It is the intent of the Kingsport Recreational Soccer Program to provide the opportunity to play recreational soccer to all kids in our community, regardless of race, gender, creed, or income. To achieve this vision, we offer financial aid to help reduce the financial burden associated with the fees to participate in our Recreational Soccer Program.
We offer the following financial assistance:
• Full Scholarship = FREE
• Half Scholarship = $30 off season fees
• Hardship Scholarship = Amount to be approved by Scholarship Committee on “as needed” basis.
Applicants for scholarships should e-mail proof of free or reduced lunch qualification to the Club Administrator. Reduced Lunch players qualify for half scholarship and Free Lunch players qualify for Full Scholarship. This applies for all programs.
Hardship Scholarships require a written justification and a specific dollar amount request for consideration by the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee must approve all Hardship Scholarship Requests. Hardship Scholarship Requests should be e-mailed to the Scholarship Committee with a subject indicating the e-mail is for a Hardship Scholarship Request.
There are other methods to identify the need for a scholarship, such as qualification for food stamps and attendance at a Title I School. Proof of financial burden may be required in these cases. It is recognized that not all students at Title I schools will require financial assistance and further justification will likely be required.
